About me
Julia Marsh psychologist
I work with adults in my practice in The Hague and online, during the day and on two evenings a week.

How I work
In therapy, what matters most to me is that it's clear what we're doing and why. We set a goal together and regularly check whether we're getting closer to it.
I work with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). It focuses on what's happening now: the thoughts, feelings and habits that make daily life harder. We look for practical ways of coping that you can also use between sessions.

Training and development
Master's in psychology
A university master's degree in clinical psychology.
CBT training
Training to become a certified cognitive behavioural therapist.
Supervision
I discuss my work regularly with an experienced supervisor. It's standard practice in the profession.
Code of ethics
I follow the professional code of ethics for psychologists.
Outside the practice
I moved to the Netherlands eleven years ago, so I know what it's like to build a life here from scratch. In my free time I walk along the beach at Scheveningen, whatever the weather, and I'm learning the cello, slowly and with patient neighbours.
What I don't work with
Sometimes someone else can help you better. I don't work with children and teenagers, with addiction, or with people in an acute mental health crisis. If your situation calls for it, I'll help you find the right person.
In an acute crisis, don't wait for an appointment: see who to call.
A conversation is a good place to start
In the introductory session we get to know each other and you decide whether you want to work with me.
